Ludhiana: A 24-year-old man was found dead under suspicious circumstances in Hathur near Jagraon on Saturday, with family members suspecting that drug abuse may have contributed to his death. Balkaran Singh’s relatives claimed suspected intoxicants were found in his possession and said he had been battling addiction for the past few months despite undergoing treatment at a de-addiction centre. Police have launched an investigation and said the exact cause of death will be established only after medical examination and postmortem reports. Villagers and family members have demanded strict action against drug traffickers in the area.
