Lucknow: A Chief Judicial Magistrate (CJM) court in Bahraich has directed the registration of an FIR against 20 police personnel, including the then station officer (SO) of Sujauli police station, over allegations that a man and his son were implicated in a criminal case and sent to jail. The order was passed after the complainant approached the court, alleging that repeated complaints to senior police officials had failed to elicit any action. They entered the house forcibly and misbehaved with family members.According to Yadav, the police personnel returned around 7 pm the following day, Aug 24, and forcibly took him and his younger son, Sujeet, to the police station. He alleged that after they were released, the police implicated both of them in a criminal case, resulting in their arrest and imprisonment. After being released from jail, Yadav submitted several complaints to senior police authorities, seeking action against the personnel involved. When no action followed, he filed a petition before the court. After hearing the matter, the CJM directed that an FIR be registered against the then station officer and 19 other police personnel.Yadav also told the authorities that his elder son, Vimlesh, works in the Uttar Pradesh Police in Sultanpur, while one his brother serves in the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) and another works in the Assam Secretariat.Confirming that the court’s order had come to his notice, Motipur Circle Officer Amit Kumar Singh said he was currently out of the district and would provide details of the action being taken after returning.
