Akhilesh also claimed that the BJP had lost in Varanasi during both the initial counting and the subsequent recounting. He alleged that the results reflected public anger against the BJP’s policies on teachers, students and education, as well as the concerns of unemployed graduates.

NEW DELHI: Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday called the BJP a “flop show” after the party’s defeat in the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council elections. He further alleged that the BJP was facing an internal rift following its defeat in the council polls.Akhilesh also claimed that the PDA, or Pichhda, Dalit, Alpsankhyak (backward classes, Dalits and minorities) grouping, had expanded its support base.“The PDA’s mass base has now reached 95%, because ‘those who are victimized, they are PDA’!” he said.

Akhilesh alleges poll tampering

The SP chief alleged that the BJP had won some seats through electoral manipulation. He also praised party workers and supporters for monitoring the counting process alongside the party’s “PDA sentinels”.He congratulated the winning candidates and those who, he alleged, had been defeated through “deceit and fraud”.“In fact, none of our candidates has lost; they just couldn’t win in the face of BJP’s tampering. We equally honor them as well. For us, they are all winners even without certificates,” Akhilesh said.
