Lucknow: The BJP will launch six mega foot marches across its six organisational regions under the banner of ‘Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy’ as part of an extensive organisational and voter outreach blueprint in Nov.Presenting the party’s election preparedness roadmap at the BJP’s state working committee meeting, state general secretary (organisation) Dharampal Singh said each march is expected to draw at least 25,000 party workers, indicating the scale of the mobilisation exercise the party intends to undertake ahead of the crucial assembly polls. The foot marches will begin on Nov 3, with the Awadh region’s march scheduled in Lucknow in the presence of Union minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan. On the same day, the Braj region will hold its march in Bareilly, which will be attended by Union minister and former BJP national president JP Nadda. On Nov 4, Gorakhpur region’s march will be attended by BJP national president Nitin Nabin and state president Pankaj Chaudhary. The Kashi region’s march in Prayagraj will have deputy chief minister Keshav Prasad Maurya, while deputy CM Brajesh Pathak will participate in the Kanpur region’s march. Chief minister Yogi Adityanath will lead the western region’s march in Ghaziabad on Nov 5.Singh assigned a series of responsibilities to party functionaries, laying particular emphasis on maximum voter outreach, effective deployment of workers and strengthening the organisational network at the grassroots.A key component is to identify and deploy a dedicated team of active workers across the party’s 1,918 organisational mandals.Singh said a list of 25 active workers would be prepared in every mandal from among its nearly 60-member executive committee. These workers would undertake regular visits to all booths falling within their respective mandals. Their names and mobile numbers would be compiled to facilitate accountability and coordination.Similarly, a five-member team of active workers will be constituted at every polling booth. Assembly constituency in charges and assembly-level organisational coordinators, or vistarak, will visit Shakti Kendras to assess and verify the actual state of the party’s organisational machinery. The exercise will also involve preparing comprehensive databases of serving and former office-bearers, elected representatives, cooperative sector functionaries, workers associated with party wings and cells, and those who have joined the BJP from other parties. Responsibilities will be assigned to them according to their organisational capabilities. The emphasis on identifying active workers and mapping their deployment suggests that the BJP intends to move beyond organisational headcounts to a more targeted system of cadre utilisation and booth-level monitoring. The party has also decided to tap its pool of experienced leaders and former elected representatives to strengthen its election machinery. Social outreach meetings, or samajik chaupals, will be organised, besides assembly-level meetings of leaders who have served as office-bearers for three consecutive terms. The BJP will intensify its beneficiary outreach campaign to establish direct contact with people who have benefited from various welfare schemes of Union and state govts. The outreach will also extend to math and temple establishments, workers associated with the wider Sangh Parivar and influential religious and social leaders.A special drive will target women and young voters, particularly those in the 18-21 age group who will be among the new entrants into the electorate. The BJP will also roll out a dedicated farmer outreach programme through kisan sampark abhiyan, farmer meetings and community feasts with members of cooperative societies.A separate campaign will target small and micro entrepreneurs, with the party planning regular interactions and outreach programmes to address their concerns and keep them connected with the organisation. The election preparedness plan will also define specific responsibilities for mayors, district panchayat chairpersons, Rajya Sabha members, MLCs, MPs, MLAs, the party’s 2022 assembly election candidates and its 2024 Lok Sabha candidates.UP BJP Plans Tour Calendar for Top LeadersUP BJP state general secretary Dharampal Singh said the party was simultaneously preparing a detailed calendar of proposed visits and public meetings by its top leadership, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah, defence minister Rajnath Singh, chief minister Yogi Adityanath, both deputy chief ministers and state party president Pankaj Chaudhary. The responsibilities for organising meetings during the proposed visits of the national president and home minister, besides programmes involving the chief minister, deputy chief ministers and state president, will be assigned to designated functionaries.Singh asked party leaders to immediately begin preparations after the working committee meeting and ensure that all programmes scheduled for Nov and Dec were completed within the stipulated timelines.
