Patna: Police on Monday arrested a man and detained a juvenile in connection with the murder of Shankar Manjhi, a Vikas Mitra and supporter of Union MSME minister and HAM(S) founder Jitan Ram Manjhi, who was shot dead near his house under Delha police station area in Gaya on Sunday evening.Senior superintendent of police Sushil Kumar said a case was registered on the complaint of the victim’s wife, Kavita Devi. The arrested person was identified as Raghu Kumar. Shankar was returning home after attending a prayer meeting when he was attacked.The SSP said City SP Abhinav Kumar visited the spot and supervised the preliminary investigation. An FSL team collected evidence from the spot, while a special investigation team led by City DSP-2 Dharmendra Bharti was probing the case from different angles.Meanwhile, a HAM(S) delegation visited Anugrah Narayan Magadh Medical College and Hospital (ANMMCH) and met the bereaved family on Monday. Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi also spoke to the victim’s widow on the phone and assured her that the accused would be brought to justice.
