Patna: East Central Railway (ECR) general manager Dimpy Garg on Monday inspected Patna Junction ahead of the anticipated rush of passengers during the Durga Puja festival. The inspection focused on passenger amenities, cleanliness, safety measures and crowd-management arrangements at the station.The GM visited platform numbers 1 and 10 and reviewed facilities put in place for the smooth movement and convenience of passengers. He inspected cleanliness standards, drinking water facilities, waiting areas and other amenities available at the station.According to ECR chief public relations officer Saraswati Chandra, Garg also inspected foot overbridges, circulating areas and ticketing facilities to assess the station’s preparedness for handling increased passenger traffic during the festive season. He directed officials to ensure effective crowd management and maintain high standards of cleanliness at all times.The GM also reviewed the redevelopment plan of Patna Junction under the Amrit Bharat Station Scheme (ABSS).During the inspection, he examined the coaches of the Patna-New Jalpaiguri Vande Bharat Express and reviewed onboard passenger facilities. Safety and security arrangements at the station also came under scrutiny.Senior railway officials, including Danapur DRM Vinod Kumar, accompanied the GM and briefed him on the special arrangements being made to handle the festive rush.Garg stressed the need for coordination among all departments to ensure a safe, comfortable and hassle-free travel experience for passengers during the festival season, sources said.
