All police stations in state to get video conferencing facility within a month: Govt

Patna: Video conferencing facilities will be made operational in all police stations across Bihar within the next 30 days to improve coordination and communication between police stations and senior officers, according to a Home department directive issued on Monday.The instruction was issued by Home department principal secretary Pankaj Kumar during a review meeting on the implementation of chief ministerial announcements and directives. He also stressed the speedy disposal of pending forensic examination reports, saying delays should not hamper investigations or judicial proceedings.Kumar directed officials to regularly review pending forensic cases and ensure their early disposal. He also reviewed cases under the speedy trial mechanism and called for better coordination among departments and agencies to expedite proceedings.Security arrangements for competitive examinations were also reviewed. The principal secretary asked the police headquarters to work closely with district administrations and monitor examinations in mission mode, with special focus on security at examination centres and movement of candidates.Emphasising smooth traffic management on examination days, Kumar directed authorities to strengthen traffic arrangements in cities hosting exam centres so that candidates face no inconvenience while normal public movement remains unaffected.He further instructed officials to submit updated district-wise progress reports regularly and stressed timely implementation, quality execution and effective monitoring of all directions and announcements.
