Ghaziabad: A 36-year-old woman was beaten to death by her husband in Madhuban Bapudham’s Sadarpur area on Sunday. An FIR is being registered and a search is on for the accused, who is on the run.Renu married Arun, who works as a driver in Sadarpur, in 2011. The couple had two sons — aged 11 and 13. Arun was allegedly addicted to drugs and the couple had been fighting because of it for some time. He would allegedly get violent after consuming drugs.The woman’s father, Narendra Singh, who lives in Aligarh, filed a police complaint alleging that Renu’s older son had called him on Sunday afternoon and told him that Arun was beating Renu. Later, Arun video called Singh and thrashed Renu on the call as well. On the call, Arun allegedly said he would kill Renu and told her family to come take the body away.Arun made seven calls during the assault, police said.Singh and his family left Aligarh for Sadarpur and were told by Renu’s neighbours that she had been brought to a hospital severely injured while they were on their way. By the time they arrived at the hospital, Renu had succumbed to her injuries.“A team has been formed to nab the accused. We have received the complaint and FIR processing is underway,” ACP (Kavi Nagar) Abhay Rajendra Daga said.
