Lucknow: A day after taking re-inducting her nephew Akash Anand into the party and reinstating him as the party’s national convener, BSP chief Mayawati on Tuesday said there would be no need to separate him from the party anymore as his father-in-law Ashok Siddharth has retired from politics. In a post in Hindi on X, she said, “Most media outlets have exaggerated the matter by writing that he was expelled from the party four times….”“I want to say that even before Akash Anand’s marriage, he had been playing an active role in the party, due to which he was never expelled from the party. But after his association with Ashok Siddharth, the latter made several attempts to tarnish Akash Anand’s image for his self-interest,” she further said, adding that, “For the purpose of bringing an improvement in Akash Anand, he was separated from the party several times, and taken back after he realised his mistakes,” Mayawati said. She expressed hope that with Ashok Siddharth’s ‘sanyas’ there won’t be anymore expulsions for Akash from the party and he would only move ahead in politics.
