Patna: A 15-year-old boy was allegedly strangled by the father of a minor girl after the two were caught in an objectionable situation in Muzaffarpur.The accused, a businessman, allegedly dumped the teenager’s body in bushes about 500 metres from his village in an attempt to conceal the crime.Police detained the girl, while her father and mother were arrested.The boy, identified as Pintu Kumar, a Class IX student, the eldest of three siblings, had gone out on the evening of Oct 4 on his bicycle but he did not return home. His body was recovered from bushes two days later. The accused has been arrested, police said.According to the police, Pintu had been working with the businessman for nearly two years. On Oct 4, the businessman allegedly sent him to his house for some work. Around 8 pm, when he returned home, he allegedly found Pintu with his minor daughter in an objectionable situation.Police suspect that the businessman, enraged over the relationship, strangled Pintu and subsequently hid his body in bushes near the village.When Pintu failed to return, his family launched a search and eventually went to the businessman’s house. The family alleged that he denied that Pintu had ever come there, raising their suspicion. Pintu’s mother, Ranju Devi, later submitted an application at a police station seeking action.Police detained the businessman on Monday night and questioned him. During interrogation, he allegedly confessed to killing Pintu and disclosed the location where he had hidden the body. Acting on his alleged disclosure, police recovered the teenager’s body from the bushes on Tuesday afternoon.Besides his studies, Pintu made clay idols and had worked with the businessman for around two years.Police said his closeness with the businessman’s minor daughter had reportedly developed during this period. His family said he had also travelled to another state for work about a month ago.SHO Manish Kumar said, “An FSL team was called to collect evidence from the crime spot. While the girl had been detained, her father and mother were arrested on the basis of the deceased’s mother’s statement. Further investigation is underway.”
