CISF jawan died of head injury, says report; murder case filed

Gorakhpur: A CISF jawan whose body was found near the Bokta-Barwar embankment at Kalesar Zero Point was probably murdered, police said after the post mortem report confirmed he died of a severe head injury. Based on the findings, GIDA police registered a murder case against unidentified persons and launched an investigation on Tuesday evening.The body of Karamveer Yadav (38), a resident of Baghagara and posted with CISF in Dhanbad, was recovered on Sunday night from the embankment near Kalesar Zero Point. He was found unconscious by passersby, who alerted police. He was taken to BRD Medical College, where doctors declared him dead.According to his brother, Dharmveer Yadav, Karamveer was returning home on leave on Sunday. After missing his train, he reportedly decided to travel by a hired vehicle.Police said the post mortem report confirmed the CISF jawan died after sustaining a serious injury to the head, indicating foul play. On the complaint of his father, Dinesh Chandra Yadav, a case was registered against unknown persons under relevant sections of the BNS.After the post mortem on Tuesday, the body was cremated with full state honours late in the night in the presence of police and CISF personnel. His father performed the last rites.“We have registered a murder case against unidentified persons and are investigating all possible angles. Evidence from the spot is being examined and details of people who were in contact with the deceased are being verified,” said Abha Singh, CO GIDA.
