Kota: Rajasthan Pradesh Congress Committee president Govind Singh Dotasra and Leader of Opposition Tikaram Jully Wednesday attacked the BJP govts at the Centre and in Rajasthan over inflation, governance and alleged administrative high-handedness, predicting a Congress return to power in the state in 2028 and nationally in 2029.Addressing a party workers’ and public gathering in Bhawanimandi in Jhalawar district, Dotasra accused the BJP govts of suppressing democratic voices, citing restrictions on senior Congress functionaries during protests in Delhi. He said growing public discontent would hurt the BJP in upcoming elections. He also urged local party members to give grassroots workers and fresh faces greater opportunities instead of favouring established political families.Jully criticised the state govt over rising prices of fuel, cooking gas, pulses, edible oil and sugar, alleging that inflation had increased the financial burden on households. He accused the BJP of weakening MGNREGA and delaying pensions, scholarships, fertiliser subsidies and anganwadi payments. He also raised concerns over inadequate minimum support price procurement and delays in insurance relief for crops damaged by adverse conditions, alleging that farmers, young people and vulnerable sections were being neglected.Questioning the state govt’s law-and-order record, Jully cited the case of former BJP MLA Attar Singh Bhadana and asked how ordinary citizens could expect security when the govt had allegedly failed to protect its own former legislator.Calling on voters to hold the BJP accountable in the upcoming panchayat elections in Rajasthan, Jully said rising economic distress and public dissatisfaction would have political consequences.
