Lucknow: Uttar Pradesh govt on Wednesday effected a major reshuffle in the state police, transferring 20 IPS officers across various districts and senior police formations.The changes include the appointment of Raveena Tyagi as Superintendent of Police (SP), Barabanki, along with new postings for police chiefs in Jaunpur, Basti, Ballia, Mau, Ghazipur, Baghpat, Hapur, Muzaffarnagar, Jalaun and other districts.Tyagi, a 2014-batch IPS officer, has been shifted from the post of deputy commissioner of police (DCP), Lucknow Police Commissionerate, and appointed SP, Barabanki.A Satish Ganesh, a 1996-batch IPS officer, has been posted as additional director general of police (ADG), traffic and road safety, Lucknow. He was earlier holding the same assignment along with the additional charge of ADG, Crime.Bhagwan Srivastava, a 1998-batch IPS officer, will continue as ADG, technical services, while also holding the additional charge of ADG, crime.At the district level, Yashveer Singh, a 2013-batch IPS officer, has been transferred from Basti and appointed SP, Jaunpur. His successor in Basti will be Omveer Singh, a 2014-batch IPS officer, who has been shifted from Ballia.Kunwar Anupam Singh, a 2013-batch IPS officer, has been transferred from Jaunpur and posted as SP, PAC Headquarters, Lucknow.Sanjay Kumar, a 2014-batch IPS officer who was serving as SSP, Muzaffarnagar, has been transferred and appointed commandant, 4th Battalion PAC, Prayagraj.Arpit Vijayvargiya, a 2017-batch IPS officer, has been transferred from his post as SP, Barabanki, and appointed DCP, Lucknow Police Commissionerate.Kunwar Gyananjay Singh, a 2016-batch IPS officer, has been shifted from SP, Hapur, and appointed DCP, Prayagraj Police Commissionerate.Kamesh Bahadur, a 2017-batch IPS officer, has been moved from SP, Mau, and posted as SP, public grievances, DGP headquarters, Lucknow.Iraj Raja, also a 2017-batch IPS officer, has been transferred from SP, Ghazipur, and appointed SP, Ballia.Meanwhile, Sarvesh Kumar Mishra, a 2018-batch IPS officer, has been moved from Commandant, 4th Battalion PAC, Prayagraj, and appointed SP, Mau.Vinay Kumar Singh, a 2018-batch IPS officer, has been transferred from SP, Jalaun, and posted as SP, Ghazipur.Suraj Kumar Rai, a 2018-batch IPS officer, has been shifted from SP, Baghpat, and appointed SSP, Muzaffarnagar.Purnendu Singh has been transferred from his assignment as SP/Staff Officer to the DGP, Uttar Pradesh, and appointed SP, Baghpat.Madhuban Kumar Singh, who was serving as SP/City SP, Azamgarh, has been transferred and appointed SP, Hapur.The reshuffle also changes the policing arrangements in Bareilly and Azamgarh.Chirag Jain, a 2020-batch IPS officer, has been transferred from SP (Rural), Azamgarh, and appointed SP (City), Bareilly.Manush Pareek, another 2020-batch IPS officer, has been moved from SP (City), Bareilly, and appointed SP (City), Azamgarh.Alok Raj Narayan, a 2022-batch IPS officer, has been transferred from his position as Assistant SP, Hardoi, and appointed Additional SP, Mathura.Suresh Chandra Rawat, who was serving as SP/Additional SP, Mathura, has been appointed SP, Jalaun.Suresh Chandra Rawat, who was serving as SP/Additional SP, Mathura, has been appointed SP, Jalaun.
