Jaipur: Panchayati Raj elections in Rajasthan will be held in four phases from Oct 23 to Nov 16, State Election Commission announced Saturday. Jaipur district will see voting across all four phases.The elections will cover 41 Zila Parishads, 457 Panchayat Samitis and 14,403 Gram Panchayats across the state.With the announcement of the poll schedule, the model code of conduct has come into force, freezing new schemes, development works, tenders, work orders and transfers in poll-bound areas.State election commissioner Rajeshwar Singh said polling for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members will be held on Oct 23, Oct 29, Nov 4 and Nov 14. Elections for posts of panch and sarpanch will be held on Oct 25, Oct 31, Nov 6 and Nov 16.

State Election Commissioner Rajeshwar Singh addressed media on elections for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members will be held in before November 28 in four phases.

Elections of zila pramukh and up-zila pramukh will be held on Nov 25 and Nov 26, respectively, followed by the elections of pradhans and up-pradhans on Nov 27 and 28, respectively.Jaipur district, which has the highest number of Zila Parishad voters in the state at 18,99,920, will go to vote in all four phases.Jaisalmer, Phalodi and Salumbar districts will vote in a single phase. Jhunjhunu, Karauli, Sikar, Banswara, Bikaner, Jalore and Udaipur will see polling in three phases each, while the remaining districts will vote in two phases.With over 4 crore registered voters – including over 2 crore men, 1.9 crore women and 168 third-gender voters – Rajasthan’s rural voter base has increased by 6.2% since the 2020-21 polls.After delimitation, reorganisation and creation of new Panchayati Raj institutions in 2025-26, the upcoming polls will cover 1,403 constituencies in 41 Zila Parishads, 8,245 constituencies in 457 Panchayat Samitis and 1,30,589 wards in 14,403 Gram Panchayats.A total of 45,384 polling stations will be set up for the elections.SEC also announced revised expenditure limits of up to Rs 3 lakh for Zila Parishad member elections, Rs 1.5 lakh for Panchayat Samiti member elections and Rs 1 lakh for sarpanch elections.Exclusions in vote for leadership postsTNNJaipur: Posts of Zila Parishad pramukh and up-pramukh in Baran, Sriganganagar, Karauli and Kota districts, as well as those of pradhan and up-pradhan in Panchayat Samitis of these districts, have been excluded from the present schedule of panchayat polls as their five-year tenures end in Dec 2026.Elections for Zila Parishad and Panchayat Samiti members in these four districts will be held before Nov 28, and the schedule for elections to leadership posts in these Panchayati Raj institutions will be announced separately after their tenures end.Polls to cover 41 Zila Parishads, 457 Panchayat Samitis and 14,403 Gram Panchayats
