A woman visiting a five-star hotel in Delhi encountered obstacles when trying to use their washroom

Social media users debate hotel washroom access

The video triggered mixed reactions on X.One user commented, “Nobody, literally nobody will stop you from going into the lobby and using the washroom there. You don’t need to ask.”Another wrote, “Does makes sense, hope it is not exploited. Because of which many might start using the hotel washrooms as sulabh showchaly.”

In a later update, the woman clarified that she was not simply an outsider seeking access to the hotel.“UPDATE: The woman has clarified that she had a valid, pre-booked and paid ticket for the club at the hotel,” the update said. The clarification added that the viral claim should be viewed in that context, while raising the broader question of whether a hotel can legally deny restroom access to a person who urgently needs one.The incident has since triggered a wider social media discussion on public access to basic facilities, private-property rules and the responsibilities of hospitality establishments during emergencies.
