Prayagraj: Allahabad high court Thursday granted bail to senior Samajwadi Party functionary Azam Khan and his son Abdullah in the dual PAN card and fake passport case, suspending their sentences, observing that they have already served substantial portions of their imprisonment terms. However, Justice Samit Gopal rejected their plea to stay their conviction, meaning the father-son duo remain disqualified from contesting elections.A trial court in Rampur had handed them 7-year-imprisonment in Nov 2025, but in May this year, a district sessions court enhanced Azam’s prison sentence to 10 years. Azam has already served over four years of his sentence, while Abdullah has spent three years and six months in jail.
