GURGAON: Two men were arrested with five illegal pistols, 11 magazines and a car in Bajghera. One of the accused, Deepak (27), a resident of Jati Kalan in Sonipat, is wanted in eight criminal cases, including murder, attempt to murder, robbery, dacoity and kidnapping for ransom, registered in Gurgaon, Sonipat, Rewari and Delhi. The second accused has been identified as Rahul (28), a resident of Nangal Kalan village in Sonipat district.According to police, a team led by Sub-Inspector Lalit Kumar, in-charge of Crime Branch Sector 40, arrested the two men from Sector 112 in Bajghera on October 29, acting on a tip-off. Five pistols, 11 magazines and a car were recovered from their possession. A case under the Arms Act was registered at Bajghera police station, and both men were arrested.During interrogation, police found that Deepak had spent six years in jail, from 2019 to 2025, in connection with a murder case and other criminal cases. He was released on bail by the high court in December 2025.Police said that after his release, Deepak planned to form his own gang and recruited several associates, including Rahul, who belongs to a neighbouring village.Investigators said Deepak had allegedly procured the weapons to target people with whom he had disputes over the repayment of money he had lent them. He also wanted to avenge the 2015 murder of his maternal aunt’s son in Sonipat.According to police, Deepak purchased the weapons from Madhya Pradesh’s Khargone district for Rs 3 lakh.Police further said that Deepak had allegedly murdered a fellow villager, Satbir, in 2018 following a personal dispute. Since then, he had developed enmity with Satbir’s sons and feared retaliation, which was another reason for keeping the weapons.During questioning, investigators also found that Deepak had allegedly supplied weapons to the main accused in a snatching-cum-robbery case in Dwarka, Delhi.Police said eight criminal cases involving serious offences, including murder, attempt to murder, robbery, dacoity, theft, kidnapping for ransom and violations of the Arms Act, are registered against Deepak in Gurgaon, Sonipat, Rewari and Delhi.Further investigation is underway to establish the source of the weapons and identify other people linked to the accused.
