Lucknow: In a fresh round of disciplinary action in the Saadatganj triple murder case, four policemen posted at Kashmiri Mohalla outpost have been transferred to the police lines for alleged negligence in handling the dispute between the Tiwari and Shukla families, which eventually culminated in the killing of three members of one family. The action covers sub-inspector Shiv Kumar Yadav, head constable Umesh and two constables, pushpendra and saroj. Lucknow Police Commissioner Tarun Gauba confirmed the action to TOI, saying that the entire staff at the outpost had been replaced. The latest action follows the suspension of the Saadatganj station house officer and the Kashmiri Mohalla outpost in-charge after the killings.Gauba told TOI that preliminary findings showed that the dispute between the two families had first been reported at Saadatganj police station on Sept 19. Both sides were called to the police station, where a truce was brokered. However, no stringent preventive action was initiated at that stage, nor were the parties bound down under the relevant legal provisions to ensure that they did not resume the confrontation, the preliminary findings indicate.Further allegations have since emerged that the dispute had again been brought to the attention of Kashmiri Mohalla police outpost a day before the triple murder, but no action was initiated by the personnel posted there. The failure to respond to the renewed complaint is also under scrutiny.
