Lucknow: Prompt medical attention after an accident can prevent complications and long-term disability, doctors at Max Super Speciality Hospital, Lucknow, said during an awareness session organised after World Trauma Day.Highlighting the importance of the golden hour, doctors stressed that accident victims should be taken to a hospital equipped with emergency and trauma care without delay. They cautioned that head injuries can be serious even when symptoms are not immediately visible, as internal bleeding and brain swelling can worsen rapidly.The doctors cited two cases of complex facial injuries successfully treated at the hospital. A 12-year-old boy with multiple jaw fractures following a bicycle accident and a 35-year-old man with severe facial fractures underwent reconstructive surgery.Dr Manu Rastogi, senior director, neurosurgery, said early assessment and timely treatment were essential to prevent complications and improve recovery.
