Till Aug 31, officials had conducted 2.31 crore house visits, during which mosquito larvae were found in 64,834 houses. A total of 33,796 notices were issued to premises where mosquito breeding was detected.“Dengue cases tend to increase during the monsoon and post-monsoon period as the weather is conducive to mosquito breeding. As per the cases being managed at Paras Health Gurgaon, around 175 dengue cases have been reported so far, with around 40 patients currently admitted,” said Dr Aakashneel Bhattacharya, consultant, infectious disease, Paras Health. He said people should watch for symptoms such as high fever, headache, body ache, weakness, nausea and vomiting. “If someone is having a persistent fever, they must get themselves tested and not take any medication on their own. They must also remain hydrated, get proper rest and get monitored,” he said.Bhattacharya also advised residents to prevent mosquito breeding by avoiding stagnant water, using mosquito repellents and wearing full-sleeved clothes. “Dengue can be controlled if people are aware and take the required measures like getting themselves tested and monitored if they develop symptoms,” he said. The current dengue tally is also lower than the levels recorded in Haryana in most of the past five years. The state reported 11,837 dengue cases in 2021; 8,997 in 2022; 8,083 in 2023; 6,469 in 2024 and 2,626 in 2025. The 503 cases recorded so far in 2026 remain well below these figures.Gurgaon has also seen its annual dengue tally fluctuate over the period, from 327 cases in 2021 to 440 in 2022, before falling to 276 in 2023, 186 in 2024 and 64 in 2025.
