Giriraj hits back at Rahul over treason remark
Union minister Giriraj Singh

Begusarai: Union minister and Begusarai MP Giriraj Singh on Wednesday hit back at Congress leader Rahul Gandhi over his remark that Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah, chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar and RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat would be investigated on charges of treason.“A cow does not die because a butcher curses it,” Singh told reporters while referring to Prime Minister Narendra Modi completing 25 years in public office.Questioning Rahul Gandhi’s political judgment, Singh alleged that the Congress leader wanted illegal Bangladeshi immigrants to be included in electoral rolls, which, he said, would not be allowed. He also targeted Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Prasad Yadav over their opposition to the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls ahead of the Bihar assembly elections.“Despite extensive campaigns against the SIR exercise, they failed to point out any major instance of genuine voters being removed from the electoral rolls. Their opposition was aimed at facilitating the inclusion of illegal Bangladeshi immigrants for political gain,” Singh alleged. The Union minister further accused opposition parties of spreading misinformation against the BJP-led NDA govt over the proposed UGC (Promotion of Equity in Higher Education Institutions) Regulations, 2026.“The proposed regulations have neither been implemented nor are they going to be implemented. A false narrative is being created to divide Scheduled Castes, OBCs and upper-caste communities for political benefit,” he alleged.rajivtoi29@gmail.com
