Weather tomorrow: IMD forecasts rain, thunderstorms in 18 states; winds up to 60 kmph likely

NEW DELHI: The IMD has forecast thunderstorms, lightning, gusty winds and rainfall across several parts of the states over the next few days. While parts of southern and northeastern India are likely to receive rain, heatwave conditions are expected to persist in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and Maharashtra’s coastal Konkan belt on October 12. Delhi is likely to experience partly cloudy skies and strong winds, with speeds reaching up to 50 kmph in some areas.

Maharashtra weather tomorrow

The IMD has issued a heatwave warning for the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and Maharashtra’s coastal Konkan belt on October 12.Heatwave conditions are likely at isolated places in south Konkan districts, while hot and humid weather may prevail at isolated places in north Konkan, according to the IMD’s Regional Meteorological Centre.On October 12, with green warnings returning across Maharashtra, indicating that no adverse weather action is required.

West Bengal weather forecast

Parts of south Bengal, including Kolkata, may experience rainfall during the initial days of the five-day Durga Puja festival.The IMD has forecast light to moderate rainfall at a few places between October 15 and 17. Shashthi, the opening day of the festival, falls on October 17.Light rain or thundershowers are likely at one or two places in south Bengal on Saptami and Ashtami, October 18 and 19, respectively. Mainly dry weather is expected across south Bengal on Navami and Dashami, October 20 and 21.

Jharkhand weather tomorrow

The southwest monsoon is likely to withdraw from Jharkhand over the next four days. The state has recorded a rainfall deficit of 2%, according to the IMD.The monsoon has already withdrawn from northwestern districts and parts of central Jharkhand, including Garhwa, Chatra, Palamu, Latehar, Lohardaga, Ranchi, Hazaribagh and Koderma.

Uttar Pradesh weather tomorrow

Rainfall activity is expected to continue in parts of Uttar Pradesh over the weekend. However, the latest forecast does not specify a heavy rainfall warning for the state during this period.

Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Rajasthan weather

Uttarakhand is likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall between October 12 and 14. Gusty winds reaching 30-40 kmph, with gusts of up to 50 kmph, are also expected.Himachal Pradesh may experience isolated to scattered rainfall on October 13 and 14, while parts of West and East Rajasthan are likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall on October 12.Jammu and Kashmir and Ladakh are likely to experience fairly widespread to widespread rainfall, accompanied by isolated thunderstorms and lightning.

Northeast India weather forecast

Assam and Meghalaya may receive rainfall on October 13 and 14.Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura are likely to experience isolated to scattered rainfall between October 12 and 14. Thunderstorms and lightning are also forecast over parts of the Northeast.

South India weather forecast

Tamil Nadu, Puducherry and Karaikal are likely to receive isolated to scattered rainfall between October 12 and 14. The IMD has forecast rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning and gusty winds across several regions over the coming days. While parts of southern India, the Northeast and the Himalayan region are likely to experience rainfall, Maharashtra’s Konkan belt and the Mumbai Metropolitan Region remain under a heatwave warning until October 12.The southwest monsoon is also likely to withdraw from Jharkhand over the next four days, following its withdrawal from several northwestern and central districts of the state.
