Lucknow: Amid the opposition’s ongoing protests against CEC Gyanesh Kumar, chief minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday accused Congress and its alliance partners of causing disruptions in Delhi for several days and for attempting to create instability nationwide.Yogi asked Congress to “replace its incompetent and corrupt leadership,” arguing that citizens understood democracy and would not accept “anarchy.” He warned that if Congress and its allies continued their ‘unconstitutional and undemocratic acts’, they would lose remaining public support. He urged the party to stop “misleading” people and instead participate in democratic debate by discussing issues on their merits.“For the past several days, Congress and its alliance partners have created so much inconvenience for people in Delhi, and are making a malicious attempt to create disorder in the country,” he said, adding that the public could see through their conduct and that the opposition had “completely lost their credibility.”Turning to Uttar Pradesh politics, Yogi noted that Congress has not formed a govt in the state since 1985 and urged its leaders to reflect on repeated electoral rejection. He said voters in other states had also become disillusioned with the party. He also criticised the opposition’s stance on election outcomes, alleging it claimed credit for victories while blaming the Election Commission and electronic voting machines for defeats. Yogi said such allegations amounted to attacks on constitutional institutions. The CM further accused opposition parties of undermining the judiciary by repeatedly questioning court rulings even when judgements were delivered on the merits of a case. “Hurling abuses against constitutional bodies and creating disorder have become part of Congress’ political disposition,” he said.
