Lucknow: In his message on women’s rights on the fourth day of Shardiya Navratri, chief minister Yogi Adityanath said that wherever women are given strength and opportunity, they are able to work hard, turn that into self-reliance and then self-reliance into prosperity. In a post on social media platform ‘X’, the CM wrote: “UP’s women are no longer just beneficiaries of schemes but are becoming the builders of the village economy and the architects of the destiny of a new India. Before 2017, women had neither opportunities nor resources, and govt had neither the policy nor the intent.”The CM highlighted that BJP’s double engine govt was connecting women from villages to self-reliance. He mentioned BC Sakhis who have become a strong link for banking services in villages, Lakhpati Didis who have become a new symbol of economic self-sufficiency and Drone Didis who are leading the way in modern technology in farming. The CM added that self-help groups and Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs) were helping to increase opportunities for livelihood, entrepreneurship and agriculture-based employment for rural women. The CM further wrote that women were no longer the foundation of their family’s prosperity, but were becoming the drivers of the village economy and the leaders of a new UP’s development journey. “Only when the women of the villages prosper will UP become truly prosperous and empowered,” he said.
