Lucknow: Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Technical University (AKTU) has asked institutions to ensure the creation and updating of students’ Academic Bank of Credits (ABC) IDs and verification of their Aadhaar details on the university’s enterprise resource planning (ERP) portal.AKTU officials issued directives regarding the process, placing the focus on the accuracy and updating of student records across its affiliated institutions.“The Academic Bank of Credits is a digital mechanism that facilitates the accumulation, verification and transfer of academic credits earned by students,” said AKTU vice-chancellor Prof JP Pandey. He said maintaining accurate student records is important for the effective implementation of credit-based academic systems.AKTU has more than 750 affiliated institutions and over three lakh students across UP, making the exercise relevant to a large number of students and colleges.Institutions will need to refer to the university’s circular for the prescribed procedure and compliance requirements. The VC said the move is expected to benefit students by ensuring that their academic records are accurately linked to their digital identities, making it easier to access and verify marksheets, certificates and academic credits.“Updated ABC IDs will help students accumulate and transfer credits between recognised institutions, subject to applicable rules, offering greater flexibility if they change courses or resume their education,” he said.
