Patna: Bapu Tower has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Planet Patna to promote heritage education, cultural engagement and awareness of Mahatma Gandhi’s ideals among younger generations.The partnership aims to help residents explore Patna’s historical landmarks, cultural traditions and role in India’s freedom struggle through public programmes.The MoU was signed by Bapu Tower director Vinay Kumar and Planet Patna director Dr Azfar Ahmad. Bapu Tower deputy director Lalit Kumar Singh, Rahul Kumar and Kriti Sen were also present.The two institutions plan to organise curated heritage walks tracing Gandhi’s footsteps, along with public lectures, exhibitions, workshops and educational programmes. These activities will highlight Patna’s cultural legacy and examine the relevance of Gandhian principles in contemporary society.Closely linked to Gandhi’s political journey, Patna offers several opportunities to revisit the places and events that shaped its history. Heritage walks will encourage residents to view familiar streets and landmarks through a historical lens, while exhibitions and discussions will deepen their understanding of the freedom movement.The collaboration also seeks to present heritage as more than a record of the past, highlighting its value in understanding the present and shaping the future.Through the initiative, Bapu Tower and Planet Patna aim to strengthen the city’s cultural identity and encourage younger generations to appreciate and preserve its historical legacy.
