As Sufi music finds a growing audience through curated musical evenings, Lucknowites immersed themselves in the genre at Sufi Soul, themed ‘Where Ishq Meets the Soul’. More than 100 couples gathered for an evening of music and melody, with women dressed in pastel Chikankari ensembles lending a soft, elegant touch to the Sufi-themed evening, while men completed the look with traditional shawls.

A Sufi band from Delhi called Ulfat, featuring singers Deepak Malhotra and Vatsav Kumar, performed popular numbers such as Halka Halka Suroor Hai, Kali Kali Zulfon Ke, among others. The evening later took a livelier turn, with a Bollywood medley getting everyone on their feet.

Talking about the concept, Amit Tandon, one of the organisers, said, “Sufi music has a way of bringing people together. We wanted to create an evening where people could connect through music and shared emotions.”— Amina Ashraf
