Lucknow: Samajwadi Party president Akhilesh Yadav on Thursday alleged that the Centre would eventually privatise the upcoming Jewar airport once its connectivity improves.“Main aaj apko keh ke ja raha hoon … Woh (Jewar) airport bana hi bechne ke liye hai … (Today I am announcing something: that Jewar airport has been built with the purpose of selling it off). The day connectivity of this airport improves, it will be sold off,” he told media persons in Ballia on Thursday. In town to attend the terhaveen (13th day of demise) of former leader of opposition (LoP) and party veteran Ram Govind Chaudhary, Akhilesh told reporters that BJP govt has sold off all the big and small airports in the country and will not spare Jewar as well.On govt’s decision to rename Jewar airport after PM Narendra Modi, Akhilesh said he had no objections about it.“Projects are named in memory of people. But when people are not sure that they will be remembered, they start naming projects in their lifetime itself,” Akhilesh said. He added that the reality is that people are set to change the chief minister who is fond of changing names.Reaffirming that SP was set to contest the 2027 polls as a part of the alliance that contested the 2024 Lok Sabha polls (in alliance with Congress) and defeated BJP, Akhilesh said people of the state were looking for a change.Dismissing claims that there were issues over seat-sharing with Congress, Akhilesh said such issues never have been a problem in the past and will never be this time as well.Donation theft took place under self-attested Sanatani BJPResponding to a media query on BJP netas describing his Ayodhya visit to participate in Bhagwat Khatha as a ‘dhong’, the SP chief said if BJP people are saying this, then they are the biggest ‘dhongi’. Akhilesh said BJP claims to be a self-attested Sanatani. “… And just imagine … despite these self-attested Sanatanis being at the helm, donation and offerings at Ram Temple in Ayodhya were stolen,” he said.‘Socialism is equality in prosperity’Akhilesh said leaders like Jayaprakash Narayan, Ram Manohar Lohia, Mulayam Singh Yadav and former Prime Minister Chandra Shekhar were all proponents of socialism.“They all have shown us the socialist path where equality in prosperity is the very basis of socialism,” he said.
