Gurgaon: A 27-year-old man was arrested in Punjab’s Firozpur on Oct 25 for allegedly molesting a woman at Cyber Hub in DLF Phase 2 three days earlier, police said.The accused, Anmol Arora, a resident of Firozpur, was arrested after investigators traced him to his hometown and brought him to Gurgaon. A case was registered at DLF Phase 2 police station on the woman’s complaint under sections 74 and 75 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), which deal with assault or use of criminal force against a woman with intent to outrage her modesty and sexual harassment, respectively.According to police, the woman was leaving a shop at Cyber Hub on Oct 22 when Arora allegedly touched her inappropriately. She raised an alarm, following which the accused fled from the spot, police said.Investigators found that Arora and his friend had left Cyber Hub and returned to Punjab after the incident. Police traced Arora to Firozpur, brought him to Gurgaon and formally arrested him on Oct 25.“Both men left Cyber Hub and went to their native place in Punjab. The accused was tracked to Firozpur and brought to the police station, where he was formally arrested,” a police officer said.During preliminary questioning, Arora told police that his friend had come to Delhi to appear for an examination. After the examination, the two decided to visit Cyber Hub, where the alleged incident took place, police said.Investigators are examining the circumstances surrounding the alleged offence and verifying the statements made during questioning. Further investigation is underway, and police said legal action would follow in accordance with the law.
