Union representatives stated that a follow-up meeting has been scheduled with the govt for Oct 29 to discuss progress

Ludhiana: Bringing major relief to daily commuters, employees of Punjab Roadways, PUNBUS, and PRTC called off their indefinite strike on Saturday following talks with the state transport minister, resuming state bus services across the region. The strike, which had stalled public transport since Oct 21, was called off after govt representatives assured union leaders that their long-pending demands would be implemented.Union representatives stated that a follow-up meeting has been scheduled with the govt for Oct 29 to discuss progress. However, the union clarified that the strike has only been postponed, warning that failure to honor commitments by October 29 will trigger renewed protests and intensified agitation.“The failure to implement the demands by Oct 29 would lead to renewed protests and intensified agitation,” said a union member, adding that the state govt and transport officials will bear full responsibility for any further disruption.
