Swiss President to tour Noida airport on Oct 6, inspect facilities
The Noida airport began commercial passenger operations on June 15, with IndiGo operating the first flight from Lucknow.

Noida: Swiss President Guy Parmelin will visit Noida International Airport on Oct 6, inspecting facilities built by a company from his own country. The airport was developed by Yamuna International Airport Pvt Ltd, a wholly owned subsidiary of Zurich Airport International AG.Parmelin is scheduled to tour the modern terminal, inspect business facilities and cargo terminal, besides reviewing other operational arrangements. He will be accompanied by a high-level delegation of senior officials and business leaders.Shailendra Kumar Bhatia, nodal officer of Noida International Airport, confirmed Parmelin’s visit.The tour comes a day after Parmelin’s delegation-level meeting with PM Narendra Modi on Monday. The two leaders are expected to discuss bilateral ties, economic and trade cooperation, investment and other issues.Parmelin will also meet President Droupadi Murmu, who will host an official banquet in his honour.This will be Parmelin’s second India visit this year. He had earlier travelled to New Delhi in Feb 2026 for the AI Impact Summit.The Noida airport began commercial passenger operations on June 15, with IndiGo operating the first flight from Lucknow. Cargo operations began on June 17. Preparations are underway for international flight services, which are expected from Dec.
