Tiger Shroff escaped serious injury after his car was fired at on Sunday evening in Mumbai’s Juhu area, while his driver and a bystander were hurt. Several celebrities have reacted to the incident, and now Ram Gopal Varma, Urvashi Rautela, Ashoke Pandit and BN Tiwari have also shared their views.
Ram Gopal Varma on the possible motive behind the attack on Tiger Shroff
Filmmaker Ram Gopal Varma called the incident a “never-before-seen phenomenon” and shared his view on what may have prompted it. He wrote on X, “What happened with @iTIGERSHROFF is a never before seen phenomenon. Instead of killings relating to extortion, contract murders, settlements, etc., for the first time ever, they seem to be wanting to kill for vanity and pride.”
Urvashi Rautela asks for swift action
Speaking to IANS, Urvashi Rautela said, “It’s very deeply disturbing. My heartfelt strength and prayers to Tiger and his family. And I really hope that the authorities take swift action. Like really fast.”Asked about other recent firing incidents in Mumbai, including those outside the homes of Rohit Shetty and Salman Khan and the shooting of former Maharashtra minister Baba Siddique, the ‘Sanam Re’ actress said, “As I said, I can’t think of much. But it’s very deeply disturbing. That’s what I said. I really hope that authorities take swift action. That’s what I’m hoping and expecting.”
Ashoke Pandit condemns attack
Ashoke Pandit told IANS, “I, on behalf of Film, on behalf of the National Institute of Industry and Employees, on behalf of the Directors’ Association and in part the producers group, condemn this attack on one of the major celebrities of our industry. And I thank God that nothing fatal happened and he is safe. One really feels quite shocked and quite pained. And we all stand by Jackie Shroff and the entire family in this hour of crisis.”Speaking about the impact on the family, he added, “One can understand the trauma which Jackie and the entire family must be undergoing now. They must have never expected that this will happen to their son. The entire atmosphere of insecurity and unsafety has crept into the industry. It was the second attack on our industry in recent times; earlier, a few months back, Rohit Shetty’s house was under attack. Bullets were fired at his house also.”
BN Tiwari calls it an act of terror
Speaking to ANI, FWICE president BN Tiwari said, “I completely condemn this because the Federation is a responsible organisation, where 38 associations are involved. On behalf of everyone, I urge that such incidents should not happen. This is happening repeatedly—sometimes Salman Khan, sometimes Rohit Shetty, now Tiger Shroff—these things are purely intended to spread terror.”He also expressed faith in the police and asked people to help reduce panic on social media. He added, “Whereas I know that besides the film industry, our Maharashtra government is very capable. Our police possess real authority. After Scotland [Yard], the Bombay Police is renowned; people respect the Mumbai Police. This matter will be resolved very soon, and it is close to being solved. So I would only say that our police and the government should recreate an atmosphere in which people can live in peace, whether they are superstars or common citizens—where they can move around, go places, and enjoy themselves. These acts of terror are not good at all. The Federation strongly opposes this.”
Investigation continues
The investigation is going on. Three accused have been arrested from Kota, Rajasthan, and they have been handed over to the Mumbai Police.
