Lucknow: Factory registrations under Uttar Pradesh State Industrial Development Authority (UPSIDA) rose from around 1,400 in 2022-23 to nearly 3,300 in 2025-26.Officials pointed out that the increase was accompanied by the generation of over 50,000 jobs, as the authority expanded its industrial footprint across the state and focused on providing ready-to-use industrial infrastructure. The authority has a land bank of over 55,000 acres, including around 2,000 acres of developed land available for industrial use. Its board has also approved around five new industrial areas, mainly along expressways and highways.UPSIDA is developing sector-specific industrial hubs, including a pharmaceutical park in Lalitpur, a food park in Baheri and a bioplastics park in Kumbhi, Lakhimpur Kheri. The Bharapachpera industrial area in Pilibhit is being positioned to attract automobile and auto-component investments, with UPSIDA seeking to leverage its proximity to Pantnagar’s SIDCUL industrial area, which houses major automobile manufacturers and suppliers.“Industry needs more than land. It needs reliable infrastructure, connectivity and the right ecosystem to operate efficiently,” said UPSIDA ACEO Deeksha Jain.UPSIDA is also upgrading older industrial estates and using online auctions, ERP systems, AI-based analytics, drone monitoring and its OneMap platform to improve transparency and facilitate land allotments.
