NEW DELHI: Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijeet Dipke said in a pre-recorded video that the party’s national organisation in-charge, Ajinkya Shinde, would lead its protest at Jantar Mantar until he, spokesperson Saurav Das and co-convener Ashutosh Ranka were released from detention.Dipke had recorded the video on Friday in anticipation of a possible arrest.Who is Ajinkya Shinde?Shinde, 35, is a resident of Latur in Maharashtra and holds a BTech degree from Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar Technological University (DBATU), Lonere, Raigad.Dipke announced his appointment as national organisation in-charge in August.Shinde also organised the pressure group’s Mumbai agitation earlier this month and emerged as one of its key faces in the city.He was also among the CJP leaders who spearheaded the group’s ‘School Thik Karo’ campaign, which aims to improve the condition of government schools across India.He urged supporters to follow Shinde if they were watching the video, indicating that he, Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka would have been detained.Dipke, Das and Ranka were detained by Delhi Police from inside an aircraft shortly after it landed in the national capital, according to the information shared by the organisation.The three leaders arrived in Delhi from Mumbai for the proposed protest at Jantar Mantar against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.Shinde reiterated the party’s demand for Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation and criminal proceedings against him.He also demanded that the 2025 voter lists be frozen and the 2023 law governing the appointment of election commissioners be abolished.
