Gurgaon: A 32-year-old woman was found hanging from a ceiling fan inside her flat at Pareena Micasa society in Sector 68 Tuesday morning.Police said no suicide note was found and the reason behind her death was yet to be ascertained. The police control room received information about the incident in the morning, following which an emergency response vehicle reached the society and alerted Badshahpur police station.A police officer privy to the investigation said that a call was received around 11:30 pm about a woman found hanging.“When we reached the spot, her husband and neighbours were at the spot. The body was taken into custody and was sent for postmortem,” the officer said.The woman was identified as Ashima Lamba, a native of Tilak Nagar, Delhi. The woman was found hanging with a dupatta tied to the fan inside a flat in Tower 7 of the society.A woman sub-inspector and other police personnel reached the spot and called a forensic team to examine the scene. Police said the circumstances leading to her death were being investigated.According to preliminary police inquiries, Lamba had worked as an office assistant at a law firm in the city. However, officials at the firm said she had left the company, though the exact date of her departure was not immediately known.Police said Lamba had been married to an engineer working with Wipro in Sector 48 for around two years. “The couple had met through a matrimonial website before getting married. Lamba’s parents had died,” the police officer said.Investigators are questioning people who knew the woman and examining the circumstances preceding her death. Police said no suicide note had been recovered during the preliminary investigation and no immediate reason for the death had emerged.“An investigation is under way and the circumstances surrounding the death are being examined. The postmortem findings will also be taken into consideration,” the police officer further stated.In another case, a 25-year-old woman fell from the third floor of a residential building in the Acharyapuri area of Sector 12 Wednesday. Police are yet to ascertain whether she jumped or fell accidentally.The woman, a native of Meerut, was initially taken to Civil Hospital by her family and later shifted to Artemis Hospital. She was subsequently taken to a private hospital in Meerut for further treatment.A senior police officer said the woman’s statement was yet to be recorded, following which the exact circumstances leading to the incident would be clear.“Information about the incident was received from Civil Hospital. At this stage, the cause is yet to be ascertained. It is possible that the woman may have lost her balance and fallen. The boundary wall at the spot is also relatively low. Nothing can be determined until her statement is recorded,” the officer said.Police said the woman had got married around six months ago. Her family took her to Meerut for further treatment.
