Gurgaon: A 22-year-old labourer died on Thursday after she fell from a height of around 10 feet while watering an under-construction wall at a project site in Satguru Enclave in Palam Vihar.The woman, Prabha, was originally from Madhya Pradesh and was working at the site when the incident took place around 5pm. She sustained severe injuries in the fall and was rushed to a hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries later that night, police said.Police were informed about her death around 10pm, nearly five hours after the incident. No complaint had been received in connection with the incident so far, an officer said. Police have initiated inquest proceedings under Section 194 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita. The officer said police are examining the circumstances leading to the fall as part of the inquiry.“According to our preliminary inquiry, she was watering the wall as part of the construction work. She had climbed over the wall to water it when she fell,” he added.An autopsy was conducted on Friday, following which the woman’s body was handed over to her family for the last rites.
