Ajmer: Five men posing as income tax officers allegedly raided a businessman’s house in Nasirabad Friday and fled with jewellery worth lakhs of rupees and three mobile phones.Police are examining CCTV footage to identify the accused and trace the black SUV used in the crime.According to Nasirabad Sadar police, five men arrived at businessman Anil Maheshwari’s residence in Mahesh Colony near Dilwara bypass around 11.30am. Maheshwari was at his office in Nasirabad city with his brother and father at the time.Nasirabad SHO Radheshyam Choudhary said the accused allegedly showed identity cards, claiming to be income tax officers, took away the family members’ mobile phones and began searching the house.CCTV footage showed the men wearing white clothes and gloves, with their faces lowered, he said.The men spent around 14 minutes at the house, collecting jewellery and three mobile phones before claiming they were seizing the items. When Maheshwari’s son, Kartik, asked them to issue a receipt for the seized valuables, they allegedly pushed him and fled towards their vehicle. Kartik chased them but could not stop them.Police said the family had provided a list of the missing jewellery and an FIR has been registered.
