Lucknow: Senior ministers in UP govt advocated the use of artificial intelligence for public good while cautioning people against blindly following technology trends.Speaking at the ETGovernment AI Vision Conclave, deputy chief minister Brijesh Pathak highlighted AI’s growing importance across sectors, particularly healthcare, where it was proving to be of great service.Urging AI entrepreneurs to focus on solutions to pressing social problems, Pathak said innovation should translate into tangible public benefit. He also cautioned against excessive dependence on technology. “Don’t let AI take total charge of life. Use technology wisely,” he said.Social welfare minister Asim Arun said the state govt was open to ideas from AI startups, technology companies and universities to shape its AI policy framework. He said innovators would be encouraged to contribute through advisory, consultancy and collaborative roles.“Policy formulation cannot be left only to career bureaucrats. Your feedback and role are equally important,” Arun said. Pointing out that AI was evolving much faster than the internet, he said govt was working to remove hurdles faced by innovators in days rather than weeks or months.
