Comprehensive training for field trainers begins for second phase of Census 2027

Varanasi: A comprehensive and important training programme for field trainers under the second phase of Census 2027 began at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Sarnath, on Thursday. In Varanasi district, the training is being conducted in four batches from Oct 8 to 10 and Oct 12 to 14.The programme was inaugurated by the vice-chancellor of the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Prof Wangchuk Dorjee Negi.Addressing the participants, Prof Negi said that the census is not merely an exercise in data collection, but a strong foundation for the country’s future development, policy planning and inclusive growth. He urged the field trainers to adopt the highest standards of training and carry out census-related work with dedication, alertness, transparency and accuracy.Additional district magistrate (Finance and Revenue) and district census officer Sadanand Gupta inspected the training venue, reviewed the arrangements and addressed the trainee field trainers. He emphasised the importance of the census, quality training, collection of correct and accurate information, and strict adherence to the prescribed guidelines.Gupta said that responsibility and transparency are essential at every level in an important national exercise like the census. He called upon the trainees to discharge their duties with full commitment and responsibility.In the first phase of training, a total of 80 trainee field trainers participated. They were trained in two batches of 40 each. Four master trainers—Narsingh Maurya, Laldhari Yadav, Sujit Singh and Chandra Prakash Singh—conducted the training sessions.Deputy Director of Census Ajay Kumar and district in-charge Neelam from the Census Directorate shared important information related to the significance of the census and the training process. They said trained field trainers would play a crucial role in ensuring that Census 2027 is conducted in an organised, scientific, transparent and error-free manner.During the training, participants were given detailed information about the census process, guidelines and precautions to be taken while working at the field level.
