American country singer Ella Langley cancelled her scheduled performance in Tulsa, Oklahoma, on October 9, hours before she was due to take the stage, citing a serious security threat. The decision was made in consultation with local authorities, venue officials and her security team. Although police reportedly found no credible threat after conducting security sweeps, Langley decided to call off the concert, prioritising the safety of her fans, venue staff and team.

Langley announced the cancellation in an Instagram post just hours before the show was scheduled to begin at the BOK Center in Tulsa. Explaining the decision, the singer wrote, “Due to a serious security threat involving the safety of my fans, the venue staff, and my team, the incredibly difficult decision was made to cancel tonight’s show. This decision was made under the advisement of local authorities, the venue, and my security team.”The 27-year-old singer also apologised to fans who had made plans to attend the concert, acknowledging the time, money and effort involved in travelling to a live show.“I know how much time, travel, money, and planning goes into coming to a show, and I can’t tell you how sorry I am. This is not a decision that was made lightly. I was so looking forward to spending tonight with you, but your safety will always mean more to me than anything else. I refuse to put anyone in harm’s way,” she added.Langley and her representatives initially did not disclose the precise nature of the threat. A statement from her team reiterated that the decision had been taken with public safety as the priority.“We understand the disappointment this news brings and apologize to fans who planned to attend. The safety of fans is our foremost concern and will always come first,” the statement read.

What happened at the venue? Police say no credible threat was found

According to local outlet News On 6, the cancellation followed a reported false bomb threat at the venue. The Tulsa Police Department said officers had carried out security checks before the event, including sweeps by its K-9 unit, Bomb Team, patrol officers and BOK Center security personnel. Police later conducted another sweep after receiving a report of a potential threat involving gunfire and bombs. Authorities reportedly found no credible threat and said the venue was safe. Despite this, Langley and her team chose to cancel the concert as a precaution.
