New Delhi: Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) will deploy additional sanitation workers at major Ramlila grounds across the city to clear the waste generated during Ravana Dahan celebrations on Vijayadashami, with special cleaning drives to be conducted on Wednesday morning.“A large number of people visit Ramlila grounds and attend fairs organised around Dussehra, leading to the accumulation of considerable amounts of waste,” said Standing Committee chairperson Satya Sharma, and directed officials to ensure regular cleaning throughout the fairs. The civic body has also been asked to coordinate with Ramlila committees and resident welfare associations to organise cleanliness drives and encourage public participation in keeping the venues clean. The directions come as the civic body prepares for post-celebration waste clearance at major gathering points across Delhi, where large crowds are expected during the festivities.
