LDA earmarks ₹100cr for villages under IT City project

Lucknow: The Lucknow Development Authority (LDA) will spend Rs 100.7 crore on roads, sewerage, drinking water and drainage infrastructure in villages covered under its IT City project.LDA vice-chairperson Prathamesh Kumar inspected the project on Tuesday and directed officials to expedite development work. He set a one-month deadline to improve progress and restore roads dug up for stormwater drainage works. The project covers seven villages and 10 hamlets. So far, 1,465 farmers have been allotted 2,197 developed plots under the land-pooling policy.Reviewing the pace of construction, Kumar found that only three roads had reached the granular sub-base stage, despite 40 tenders being issued for work on 25 roads and development activities in two sectors.Taking action over the delay, Kumar issued adverse entries against assistant engineers Vineet Sharma, Gaurav Singh and Urvashi Srivastava, and terminated the services of outsourced revenue inspector Surya Prakash with immediate effect. He also imposed a penalty of Rs 1,000 per acre on architectural firm ANB for delays in submitting designs, drawings and estimates.Kumar directed officials to prioritise development work in sectors 9, 15, 16, 17, 18 and 30, where plots have already been allotted to farmers, and warned that all delays must be addressed within a month.
