KOTA: Around 40 students of Govt Tribal Girls Ashram Hostel at Pachhad in Baran district have written to SP Abhishek Andasu alleging molestation, repeated harassment and verbal abuse by the husband of a sports coach, who they claim makes frequent unauthorized visits to the hostel premises.The students, all of them minors, along with hostel superintendent Mamta Gautam, formally approached the SP Sunday, seeking urgent intervention and legal action against the accused, identified as Premshankar Meena, husband of coach Ramsarekha Bai.According to complaints submitted separately by students and the hostel superintendent, copies of which are with TOI, Meena routinely enters the hostel, often in an inebriated state, before proceeding to molest, harass and verbally abuse minor students.
An already distressing situation escalated last Saturday night, when Meena allegedly scaled the hostel’s boundary wall and entered the premises unlawfully around 8pm. Once inside, he molested several girls and used foul language, the complaints state.The students claimed this last incident in particular affected the hostel’s atmosphere.Hostel authorities said they tried to report Saturday’s incident to Chhipabarod police station immediately, but no action was initiated.Fearing for their safety and frustrated by the lack of response from police, the students and hostel superintendent decided to approach the Baran SP directly, demanding legal action against Meena and steps to restore a secure environment at the hostel.Some of the complainants also shared a video they claimed documents their allegations and added that Meena’s actions have created fear among them.Baran SP Andasu, ASP Sourabh Tiwari, Chhipabarod area DSP Tarachand and circle inspector Gambhir Singh did not respond to repeated calls seeking their responses to the matter.
