Gaya: Police arrested seven persons and a key accused surrendered in court on Monday in connection with Saturday’s clash over a land dispute in Baldev Nagar under Chandauti police station area in Gaya on Saturday.The nine arrested accused have been identified as Vishal Kumar alias Vikku Pandey, Kunal Dubey, Chotu Kumar alias Raushan Kumar, Sahil Kumar, Suraj Kumar, Bodil Paswan alias Sunny Paswan, Priyanshu Kumar alias Monty Paswan, Ravi Kumar and Anuj Kumar. Due to mounting police pressure, co-accused Ramji Paswan surrendered before the court on Monday, SSP Sushil Kumar said in a press note on Tuesday.The SSP said after the incident, a case was registered at Chandauti police station under various sections. So far, nine persons have been arrested, he added.According to the SSP, the trouble began around 11am on Saturday when a dispute erupted between two factions over a piece of land. While the local police initially intervened and pacified both sides, tensions flared up again around 2pm. A scrutiny of the area’s CCTV footage confirmed that a mob of 40 to 50 people gathered and vandalised the site. Police also recovered two live country-made bombs from the crime spot, which were later neutralised by a bomb disposal squad.
