Woman gagged, beaten up by 4 in Indira Nagar

Lucknow: A woman was allegedly assaulted by four persons who entered her house in Indira Nagar after one of them approached her on the pretext of seeking domestic work on Oct 7.Victim Suman Yadav was allegedly pushed inside her house, beaten severely and gagged with a dupatta to prevent her from raising an alarm. According to a complaint filed at Indira Nagar police station, the incident took place around 8 am at her residence in Sector 9. Yadav alleged that her doorbell rang repeatedly that morning. When she came downstairs and opened the gate, she found a young woman standing outside.On being asked, the woman reportedly told Yadav that she had come to enquire about domestic work. While the two were talking, a car stopped along the roadside outside the house. Three men allegedly got out of the vehicle, rushed towards the gate, grabbed Yadav and pushed her backwards into the house before assaulting her.When Yadav began screaming, the woman allegedly tied a dupatta around her mouth to silence her. The assailants continued beating her, leaving her severely injured.The complaint further states that, during the assault, one woman and one man went to the first floor of the house and returned downstairs after some time. The victim alleged that the attackers continued to beat her while she struggled to raise an alarm. She suffered bleeding injuries to her nose and mouth. The dupatta tied around her mouth also made it difficult for her to breathe.According to the complaint, the four suspects suddenly left the house and fled towards Pani Gaon, turning right after exiting the premises. The victim said she crawled and dragged herself towards the main gate while screaming for help. A fruit vendor standing outside the house and passers-by gathered at the spot, helped her and alerted the Arvindo Park police outpost, located near her residence.The victim alleged that a police constable arrived approximately half an hour after the incident. An ambulance was subsequently called, and she was taken to Dr Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, where she received emergency treatment. In her complaint, Yadav also referred to an earlier incident on Sept 7 when a theft had allegedly taken place at her residence. She said an online FIR had already been registered in connection with that incident.She expressed suspicion that the same individuals could have been involved in both incidents, although their alleged connection to the earlier crime has not been established.The victim stated that CCTV footage of the Oct 7 incident was available and submitted it along with her hospital report in support of her complaint.The case was registered at Indira Nagar police station on the basis of her written complaint.
