NDA students visit Science Centre in Patna

Patna: Litera Valley School celebrated ‘Deutschfest 2.0’, showcasing the richness of German language and culture through a range of creative activities. Inspired by Wilhelm von Humboldt’s quote, “Language is the key to the world,” the festival offered students an opportunity to display their linguistic abilities and artistic talents.German educators Ashok Vardhan and Shubdha Ranjan attended the event as chief guests and judges. Organised under the guidance of German facilitator Aditya Pathak, the festival featured Spell Bee, fireless cooking, speeches, short films, role play and the “Pandora Box” fashion show. German choir, band and dance performances added to the celebrations.The event concluded with the presentation of trophies and certificates to winners, celebrating teamwork, confidence and intercultural understanding.Annual function at Kendriya Vidyalaya, AraBihar Governor Lt Gen Syed Ata Hasnain (Retd.) on Saturday stressed the importance of preserving India’s guru-shishya tradition and family values while addressing the annual function of PM Shri Kendriya Vidyalaya, Ara, at the auditorium of Veer Kunwar Singh University.He advised students to limit their time on mobile phones and digital devices and spend more time with family, particularly grandparents, to develop moral values and respect for elders. He also praised the school’s academic excellence, national-level sports achievements and students’ performances at Kala Utsav.The celebration featured cultural performances, including ‘Bihar Ek Jhalak’, Punjabi dance, a social-awareness street play and the Bhojpuri folk presentation ‘Bidesiya’. Governor felicitated meritorious students, including Ifra Ahmad, who scored 98.8% in Class X to top the Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan’s Patna region. National-level sporting achievers were also honoured.NDA students visit Science CentreThe Parent-Teacher Association of Notre Dame Academy organised an educational visit to Sri Krishna Science Centre for 206 Class III students to promote experiential learning and scientific curiosity. Accompanied by their class teachers, the students explored interactive exhibits and demonstrations, gaining practical insights into scientific principles and their applications in everyday life.Centre’s head Sreenu Appikonda and his team of scientific communicators explained concepts in a simple, child-friendly manner. Primary school headmistress Sr Mary Hema John SND encouraged such practical learning experiences. The initiative highlighted the importance of hands-on learning in developing curiosity and critical thinking among young learners.Grandparents’ Day at Mary Ward KindergartenMary Ward Kindergarten, Patna, celebrated Grandparents’ Day with enthusiasm and warmth at the school auditorium. Former Kumhrar MLA Arun Kumar Sinha was the chief guest, alongside school manager Sr Gemma CJ, headmistress Sr Sarita CJ, and other dignitaries.The programme began with a welcome dance by Nursery students, followed by the ceremonial lighting of the lamp. Cultural performances included “The Golden Bond”, celebrating family relationships, the English skit “Unconditional Love”, depicting a woman’s journey from childhood to motherhood, and state-wise presentations showcasing India’s cultural diversity.The chief guest praised the young performers’ confidence and creativity and appreciated the teachers’ efforts in nurturing them. Sr Sarita CJ thanked the guests, teachers, support staff and parents for their support and participation.
