Lucknow: Until Sunday night, the Tiwari household in Saadatganj was busy preparing for a wedding. The family was waiting eagerly for Dec 5, when 30-year-old Suyash Tiwari was set to get married. Rooms were being readied, the house was being whitewashed, relatives were expected to arrive from different places and discussions revolved around wedding clothes, gifts and the many purchases still to be made before the big day.Less than 24 hours later, the same home was plunged into grief.On Monday morning, a dispute with a neighbour escalated into a deadly shooting that claimed the lives of Suyash, his father Shivaji Tiwari (62) and uncle Shambhu Tiwari (57).The sound of gunfire brought Suyash running out of the house. He rushed to help his father and uncle but was also shot near the staircase. Shivaji and Suyash died on the spot, while Shambhu later succumbed to his injuries at a trauma centre.Neighbour Anup Saxena, a close friend of Shivaji, said the family had been immersed in wedding preparations until the previous night. “There was so much happiness in the family. The house was being whitewashed and everyone was looking forward to the wedding,” he said.Rakesh Saxena, a tenant of the family, said the tragedy had wiped out all three adult male members of the household.In a matter of minutes, wedding plans turned into funeral arrangements.
