Gurgaon: An FIR was filed against an unidentified driver after a video surfaced showing a car, driven at high speed in an underpass on Golf Course Road, hitting two vehicles ahead.The impact caused one of the two vehicles to overturn, while the other crashed into the underpass wall. The car also hit the wall.The accident took place in the early hours of Oct 31 near the Sector 42/27 traffic signal. Police registered a case at Sushant Lok police station on Sunday, Nov 1, under sections 281 (rash driving) and 125 (act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.Police took suo motu cognisance of the video circulating on Facebook after no individual approached them with a complaint about the accident. A police team, led by head constable Parmila and accompanied by constable Ajit, visited the underpass to verify the footage and establish the circumstances of the crash. “Inquiries at the spot and in the surrounding area indicated that the accident had taken place early on Oct 31. The FIR was registered on the basis of the video and the preliminary verification conducted by the team. The driver’s identity is yet to be established, and police are examining the available details to trace the vehicle and identify the person behind the wheel,” a police officer said.“Sushant Lok police registered a case against an unidentified driver after taking cognisance of the video and verifying the accident site. Efforts are being made to identify the driver and take further action,” said Sandeep Turan, police spokesperson.In the video, an SUV was seen speeding and hitting two vehicles ahead. While the speeding SUV damaged the other two cars, the airbags of the speeding SUV were also deployed. The onlookers stopped to help the victims and arranged an ambulance for the victims. No one, however, suffered fatal injuries, police said.The case is under investigation.
